Did you know that even beginners can try surfing in Okinawa’s stunning waters? Today, we guided a group through our introductory surfing course. The blue sky is absolutely magnificent these days. Although it is technically typhoon season, the period from July to September is actually when you can experience those perfect, unforgettable “surf days” in Okinawa. The blue of the sky is unrivaled throughout the year. The real highlight of this season is seeing that brilliant azure sky reflected on the ocean’s surface, creating a breathtaking “beautiful blue.” And what about the waves? Summer waves are incredibly gentle. This means beginners can enjoy a safe and truly wonderful surfing experience. Once you try surfing in Okinawa during the summer… you’ll be hooked. Ikei Island is home to a popular surf spot often described as one of Okinawa’s last frontiers—a hidden gem. Information about the Ikei Island surf spot often states “No beginners; advanced surfers only,” but… In reality, beginner surfers *can* visit if accompanied by an expert instructor from a surf shop who can provide proper guidance!
